About Me
WHO AM I?
My name is Michelle Laver. I was born and raised in the sunny seaside city of Durban, South Africa. During my early years, my family and I moved to Cape Town, which is where my roots stayed until I completed my High school career, having attended a private school, Somerset College.

My love for art and anything creative excelled all throughout my life.
During high school, I had to complete a certain amount of hours attending a job experience of related interest. I decided to intern at Media24 in Cape Town, which is what sparked my interest in writing. This idea formulated my desire to study journalism.
The only place to study my dream, within South Africa was Rhodes University which is located in the Eastern Cape in a small town called Grahamstown, situated about 10 hours drive from Cape Town.
After studying at Rhodes University for four years, specializing in photography and multimedia, I have learned so much about myself and what I can do.
With a Bachelor of Journalism and Media Studies (B.Journ) degree, also majoring in Psychology, under my belt, I now eagerly look forward to sharing my experience with the world through photography, video, design, writing and multimedia.
I worked for Cunard and P&O cruise lines under Carnival UK for over two years. As a photographer and Lab Technician aboard ships such as the Azura, Oceana, and Queen Elizabeth, my travels around the world have been most incredible.

With storytelling embedded in my core, I decided to explore an additional pathway I know well- design. I wanted to create something that I could call mine.
Something that I could continue to create and give back to.

These designs are all hand drawn with a laptop mouse. All free hand and authentic.
