Today marks the 2nd year anniversary of Canadian musician and Glee star- Cory Monteith’s death. After his body was found in Vancouver, Canada Hotel on July 13 2013, the 31 year old was discovered after staff noticed he had missed his check-out time. The findings concluded that the ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ quarterback heart-throb died after an overdose of heroin and alcohol consumption.

Current girlfriend and rumored fiancé of the time- Lea Michele- commonly known as ‘Rachel’ who co-starred along-side Monteith, recently paid tribute to her lover after dating for nearly 2 years.

Following a history of drug use that began around the age of 12, Monteith had received previous substance abuse treatment when he was just 19 years old. Decades later, according to DailyMail, Monteith checked into rehab in March and managed to stay clean whilst on the Glee set but temptations soon weakened once he stepped back into his hometown of Vancouver, surrounding himself with bad influenced friends.

Fans paid special tribute to various social media platforms allowing Monteith to shine on center stage once more. Glee fans targeted twitter pushing the hashtag “#2YearsWithoutCory" to trend at number one worldwide. Endless memorial messages, photographs, quotes and condolences to the Glee star- ‘Finn Hudson’ spread throughout the community to honour him.
