Welcome to downtown Memphis Tennessee, known worldwide as the “Birthplace of Rock’n’Roll”. This is Legendary Sun Studio. Founded in 1950 by pioneer Sam Phillips, legend has it that this building, on 706 Union Avenue, made the discovery of genres and musical icons of the 50’s.

Now it is known as the towns sacred shrine.

Sun Studio hosted hundreds of recording sessions here. The sounds that beat through the four walls of the studio within, changed the face of popular music forever.

Not only did it change Elvis Presley’s life but lured in other well known characters from B.B King to Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis, U2, Maroon 5 and Def Leppard.

Today visitors are invited to hang out in the recording booth, surrounded by priceless memorabilia and a vast array of instruments whilst listening to the voices of musicians that still haunt the studio.

Sun Studio is not just a museum and a National Historic Landmark but is a working recording studio which operates nightly.

Open from 10am to 6pm everyday, the studio offers exclusive 45 minute guided tours where kids aged 5-11 enter free.

So, if legends were born within these four walls of the Legendary Sun Studio, then it is guaranteed to give you a show of a lifetime.
